Site Design
Welcome to a the re-launch of the Gala Harriers website. What’s changed you may be wondering?
Well in some ways a lot and in other ways not a lot. There is the obvious colour change - hope it isn’t too green on your monitor - and tweaks to the layout.
There is a new Club Kit section detailing the running gear that has worked hard for. The photo gallery has seen an increase with something like 150 new pictures added.
Another new part of the site is the Hall of Fame where we hope to record all noteworth achievements by the harriers and individual runners. Suggestions of past records are welcome.
The event calendar will show the current month (always, fingers crossed) and you can even subscribe to the event list too.
The news section is broadly similar but one exciting new feature is the capability for readers to add their own comments to articles.
The biggest change is actually behind the scenes where there is now a reputable publishing system in place. This makes life easier for our army of content writers to update the site with timely information.
As always the site aims to use XHTML and CSS and consequently is best viewed using a modern browser like Firefox. We also hope that the site is accessible to all users and whatever user agent they view the site with.
If you feel the site is failing on this, or any other point please let us know.
Thanks for reading and I hope you find the site useful,
the web person, March 2006.
