At Tweedbank Track on Thursday 2nd September, the annual running of the popular Henderson Trophy took place on a perfect summer evening under blue skies and windless conditions, alongside 300m and 800m races for the juniors. In order to win the coveted Henderson Rosebowl, a mile on the track is followed up by 2 ¾ miles along the riverbank and for the first time in many years, the finish was so closely contested that a tiebreaker had to come into force.

Four Harriers tied with the same point scores after the two legs so the fastest individual mile time determined the finishing order. Winning the trophy was a delighted and deserving Jenny Forbes, with Nicola Porterfield in second place and Matthew Purves and Susan Howell in joint third. Also trying out the senior distance for the first time were Rowan Marr and Cammy Gowans who completed both legs of the route, with Fraser Wardhaugh, Jo Arres, Kerry Sandilands and Martha Douglas giving the seniors a run for their money the mile on the track.

1st, 2nd and 3rd in the primary school age 300m were Finlay Howell, Christie Rout and Mark Purves while the podium places in the 800m were taken by Gregor Shepherd, Charlotte Dalgleish and Anton Kobus. Again, all results are up on the website.
