Gala Harriers 5000m Track Race Results
April 25th, 2008Graeme Murdoch added another gong to the trophy cabinet with a convincing win over 5000m at Tweedbank track on Thursday 24th April with a time of 17.07.
First female and second home was Diane Lauder who run a PB in 17.58. 3rd position was settled when the young pup, Gregor McAneny (18.48) easily sprinted past the old dog Tony Lunn (18.52) in the final straight after a dog fight on the previous 12 laps.
Tony Westbury (19.20) was next over the line, closely followed by the youngest competitor in the race, Jack Fraser (19.34). Malky Gowans gave the greens socks another outing and they finished in a time of 19.55 in 7th place. Neil O’Docherty (20.18) finished 18 seconds quicker than the previous year in front of the ever-improving Billy McCulloch (20.46).
Melanie Goodson (20.51) was 2nd lady home who also finished strongly just beating Eileen Nicol (20.53) who took 3rd ladies position, who were 10th and 11th respectively.
Morgot Crosbie (21.10) finished a head of Angela Foss (21.32), Gerry Moss (24.02) and Davey Darroch (24.25) who is thankfully on the comeback trail.
