Limpers Just Edge Out Harriers

August 22nd, 2007

Lauder Limpers regained the challenge trophy even though 2 Harriers finished in the top 3.

Even though Harriers were on the losing side, all runners had an enjoyable evening on the well-organised and attended annual challenge event in Lauder.

The evening skies looked threatening but the rain held off the difficult course that started and finished at the Lauderdale Hotel at the bottom of the Stow Road.

The handicappers did a reasonable job this year as the trophy was decided by only 2 points over a combined score, with the top 3 males and females from each team counting.

Shealgh King had a storming run to finish first overall with Martin Clark finish closely behind in third and with the fasted time of the night.

The real winner of the night was the Chest Heart and Stoke Foundation, which is the sponsored charity for the event, taking home £215.

 Times and places attached.
