The Black Rock Challenge
July 2nd, 2007Sixteen Gala Harriers, made the journey to the Kingdom of Fife to partake in one of the more unusual races in the running calendar on Friday 29th June.
The race starts at Kinghorn and takes you out on to the beach and straight out into the low tidal waters and around “The Black Rock” weather permitting, and back to Kinghorn to finish on a steep climb where a welcome beer is thrust into your hand.
Graeme Murdoch was first Harrier home and Rachel Fagan picked up the sixth lady prize, whilst Gillian Duncan got her hands on yet another vet’s prize coming home as third lady vet.
All the runners were delighted with new PB’s for the course, as it was the first time the Harrier’s had made the trip, but are already planning next years return event as they like the idea of running in a brewery sponsored event!
