Beltane 10K & Another PB
June 18th, 2007Eight Harriers took part in a well organised Beltane 10K at Peebles on Sunday 17th June. Tony Lunn was first Harrier home in a time of 38.13, followed by Diane Lauder in a time of 39.02 which also earned her the second place in the ladies race.
Gregor McAneny set yet another PB in a time of 39.47 with Magnus Inglis striding in at just over the 41 minute mark still feeling the efforts of his martahon training from the previuos day. Malky Gownas had another consistent run in his first outing since the Edinburgh marathon. Gillian Duncan, was next home and took the ladies vet title in a time of 43.32.
John Paterson had his best 10k run of the season in a time of 44.30 whilst Kate Jenkins jogged the course to strecth her legs after setting a new record in a 10 hour race the previous day.
Kate took part in the Caledonian Challenge which is a 54 mile walk/run from Fort William along the West Highland way finishing on the banks of Lock Lomond at Ardlui. Competing with her team FM Cape Verde she set a new course record of 10.17 minutes.
Graeme Murdoch also went solo to run the Vale of Leven 10K and produced another PB taking nearly a minute of his previous best to finish in a time of 35.35.
