Hollybush Triumph For McAnenny
May 8th, 2007Gala Harriers hosted their annual 10K handicap on Monday 7th May along the usual Hollybush course on the outskirts of Galashiels.
Gregor McAnenny won the race with a PB with a time of 40.19, just holding off Graeme Murdoch who ran a superb race starting at the back of the field and coming through in a time of 36.32 just 8 seconds behind Gregor. John Cairns finished the placings in a time of 40.27, just holding off late challenges from Tony Lunn and Alastair Wright in times of 38.55 and 41.50 respectively.
Derrck Brydon run a PB, to clock 41.27 and finish in 6th place just ahead of Magnus Ingils who stilled clocked 39.09 even though he had competed the day before at the Graet Edinbugh run. Tommy Knox had a steady race with a time of 44.02, as did Malky Gowans running in at 43.19. Martinn Clark in his first race after the London marathon hit 40.00 in 10th place, 2 seconds in front of the front runner Alan Gordon who completed the course in a time of 46.47.
Graham Jones regretted his mid-afternoon cycle run and beer stop after clocking 44.11, but finished ahead of Will Mcdemott and John Patterson in times of 45.49 and 46.25.
