Hannah Jones from Berwick middle school became the first girl in history from that area to win a Northumberland schools county title in the minor girls.

Her twin sister Emily also had a superb run finishing in 4th place. Laura Anderson finished in a fine 11th place.The girls were also part of the winning north Northumberland team.

All the girls run for Gala in the borders and east district leagues. The girls now go forward to represent Northumberland in the Inter schools county championships at South shields this weekend.

Harriet Murray another runner who represents Gala also had a good run finishing in 11th place to qualify for the inter counties,and English schools trials race.
