National Success For St Peters Primary School Pupils
April 24th, 2005Alice Haining and Murray Lemmon made the trip up to Kirkaldy on Saturday to take part in the Scottish Primary Schools Cross Country Championships. Alice and Murray were running in the P6 race, with Alice winning silver in her race and Murray winning the gold medal in the boy’s race.
There were so many runners taking part that organisers had to run the races in two legs. There were 156 runners in Alice’s race, where she had a great run against Emily Ovens from Edinburgh, who she beat at London but she was too good for her over this relatively short one mile course.
Murray was very nervous before his race, with 174 runners in his race he had never run in such a big event before. He received a great cheer as he came into the finishing straight in the lead and crossed the line in 7.34 minutes.
