Winter Woollies Worn at Wooler
March 6th, 2005A cold blast of winter blew over the competitors at the start of Round 6 of the Eastern Borders Winter XC Series on Sunday. downhill run in to the finish but Davy had other ideas and put in a strong burst down to the line finishing 34th, with Alan close behind in 37th place.
The Gala Harriers team finished 4th on the day, with Dunbar RC taking the honours again.
Eaun Lindores picked up his highest finish of the series in the junior race, crossing the line in a clear 3rd place. Euan’s new training regime of partying most of the night before and going to bed just before you’re due to get up seems to be a real winner!!! Cammy Fair all but secured the U13 boys title with another strong run, finishing 7th overall on the day, with Alice Haining doing exactly the same in the U11 girls category, finishing first girl and 9th overall. James Haining ran well to finish 13th and should pick up a medal at Dunbar if he can put in another strong race. Cameron Gowans was almost blown back up the hill as he neared the finish line but he pushed on to finish 25th from the field of 32 runners.
