The road race season is getting into full swing and six harriers made their way up to Alloa to compete in their half marathon last Sunday. Despite the windy conditions the Gala runners all put in good performances, with club head coach Neil Renton recording a respectable 1.20.13 to lead home the harriers.
Tish Affleck picked up another vet’s prize with her 1.25.40 finish; she was followed in by Rachel Fagan who was disappointed with her time of 1.31.20. Rachel slowed up over the last few miles when she started to suffer from cramp and the effects of a very fast start.
Eileen Nichol and Angela Foss’s preparations for the London Marathon are going very well and both finished comfortably with times of 1.36.13 and 1.36.48 respectively. Karen Renton was last harrier to finish in a time of 1.46.15.
