Norham Village 10K

This race is unique in as much as it starts in England crosses the border into Scotland and finishes back in England and 5 Gala Harriers took part. Norham village was the venue for 5 Gala Harriers on Sunday, to take part in the Norham 10 Km road race. The race is unique in as much as it starts in England crosses the border into Scotland and finishes back in England.

There was a healthy field of over a hundred runners at the start, with many local clubs represented. Robin Murray was first harrier home in a time of 38.48, to finish 25th, with Graham Capper finishing in 41.17, closely followed by David Hunter, setting another personal best time of 42.03.

Paul Morris has run faster times but he will be happy to have got round the course in one piece, in a time of 46.20. Rosi Capper finished strongly at the end, it was the start and the middle of the race which were the problem as she recorded a time of 57.27.

Next race for the harriers is the East District Cross Country Relays at Kelso on Saturday, with Gala ladies hoping to retain the title, they won last year.
